A group of terrorists opened fire on an army camp in Bhatodi village of Billawar, Kathua district, in the early hours of Saturday, triggering a search operation by the Indian Army. The attack took place at around 1:20 am, when two to three armed militants initiated gunfire at the army personnel stationed at the camp.
In response, the soldiers returned fire, forcing the terrorists to retreat into the nearby forest. Following the exchange of fire, the army launched an extensive search operation at first light, aiming to track down the attackers. However, as of now, no contact has been established with the militants, and the search operation is ongoing.
There have been no casualties reported on either side during the incident. The army has cordoned off the area and continues its efforts to locate the terrorists. The incident comes just days after an Army jawan was killed in a clash with terrorists in Kashmir’s Sopore district.
