Starbucks is giving its customers something to look forward to after the excitement of Super Bowl Sunday. The coffee giant has announced that it will offer a free tall hot or iced coffee to Starbucks Rewards members on Monday, February 10, 2025, as part of the newly introduced “Starbucks Monday” celebration.
The announcement was first hinted at through a social media post featuring a cup of coffee with the message, “Monday’s coffee is on us.” Starbucks later confirmed the offer with another post reading, “Psst. There’s a free tall cup of coffee with your name on it. Monday, 2.10.25.” The caption emphasized, “If you needed a reason to look forward to Monday, this is it.”
Why is Starbucks Giving Away Free Coffee?
In a press release, Starbucks explained that with the Super Bowl taking place on Sunday, February 9, many Americans will have a long and potentially exhausting Monday. To help customers power through the day, Starbucks is offering a free post-game coffee to its Rewards members.
“With the Big Game on Sunday, Feb. 9, many Americans will spend the day going big — which may lead to a long Monday. That’s why on Monday, Feb. 10, your post-game day coffee is on us,” the company stated.
How to Claim the Free Coffee?
To redeem the free tall (12 fl. oz.) hot or iced brewed coffee, Starbucks Rewards members need to apply the Starbucks Monday coupon in the Starbucks app before placing their order. Alternatively, customers can present the coupon to a barista in-store or at the drive-thru. The offer is available at participating Starbucks locations across the U.S., including Starbucks Reserve Roasteries, though it is not applicable for delivery orders.
Can Non-Members Get a Free Coffee?
Yes, non-members can also take advantage of the offer by signing up for Starbucks Rewards before 11:59 PM Pacific Time on February 9, 2025. New members who sign up on February 10 can still enjoy the free coffee by visiting a Starbucks store and speaking with a barista.
Starbucks’ Post-Super Bowl Tradition
This move aligns with Starbucks’ strategy of engaging with its customer base through unique promotions and rewards. By offering free coffee on what it calls the “Mondayest Monday of the year,” the company hopes to brighten up the day for football fans and coffee lovers alike.
