According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the earthquake was centered 32 miles southeast of Beatty, a small Nevada town located about 60 miles from Area 51. The quake occurred at 2:11 a.m. PST and was categorized as a minor seismic event. While tremors above 2.5 in magnitude can sometimes be felt, there were no reports of injuries or structural damage.
