The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has expanded its visa exemption policy to include nationals from 87 additional countries, allowing them to enter the country without obtaining a pre-entry visa. This move aims to streamline the travel process and enhance ease of access for tourists, as reported by Gulf News.
However, India is notably absent from the list of countries eligible for visa-on-arrival facilities. UAE’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs clarified that citizens from 110 nations, including India, will still be required to obtain a visa before their arrival in the country.
The updated visa-on-arrival facility is available for citizens of various countries, including Albania, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, UK, US, and many others.
International travelers interested in visiting the UAE can check the list of exempted countries and the visa application processes on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ official website or contact the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Ports Security, and Customs (ICP) for more information.
UAE Digital Government has also clarified that citizens of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) do not require a visa or any other documentation to enter the UAE. Upon arrival at UAE ports of entry, GCC citizens can gain entry by presenting a passport from a GCC state or an identity card.
For those eligible, the visa-on-arrival grants a 30-day stay with an additional grace period of 10 days. Certain countries also qualify for a 90-day visa upon arrival, providing further flexibility for travelers visiting the UAE.
The extension of the visa-on-arrival policy reflects UAE’s ongoing efforts to promote tourism and facilitate smoother travel experiences for international visitors, while also maintaining necessary entry protocols for specific nations.
