A routine dinner turned into a nightmarish experience for a customer at a restaurant in Mumbai when he found a dead rat in his chicken curry. The incident has led to charges being filed against the restaurant’s manager and chef, according to local police.
The unsettling episode took place on a Sunday night when Anurag Singh and his friend Amin decided to dine at an eatery in Bandra that specializes in serving Punjabi cuisine. As they eagerly awaited their meal, little did they know that a shocking discovery awaited them.
Upon receiving their order, Mr. Singh began to consume his chicken curry, only to notice an unusual taste and texture. Suspecting that something was amiss, he examined the meat more closely and was horrified to realize that it was not chicken at all, but a deceased rat.
Outraged and disgusted, the two men confronted the restaurant’s manager. However, instead of a satisfactory explanation, Mr. Singh claimed that he received “vague answers” from the manager. Adding to his ordeal, Mr. Singh reported feeling unwell shortly after the incident and sought medical attention.
As a result of this unsettling event, the local police have taken action against the restaurant’s chef, manager, and the supplier responsible for the chicken. The charges brought against them include offenses related to adulteration of food and endangering the life or personal safety of others.
This incident is not the first of its kind to come to light. Just last month, a Twitter user alleged that he found a dead rat in a dish served at a well-known restaurant in Ludhiana, Punjab. The accompanying video, which depicted a deceased rat covered in gravy, quickly went viral on social media platforms. The restaurant, however, refuted the video’s claims, accusing the customer of tarnishing the establishment’s reputation.
As investigations continue into the Mumbai incident, the public’s growing concerns about food safety and hygiene highlight the importance of maintaining strict standards within the food industry. These unsettling occurrences underscore the need for vigilance and transparency to ensure the well-being of consumers and the reputation of the establishments they frequent.
