Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Sunday announced a 5% hike in the dearness allowance (DA) for state government employees, raising it from the current 50% to 55%, aligning with the allowance structure for Central government employees.
Taking to social media platform X (formerly Twitter), CM Yadav said, “I am happy to inform all the employees of Madhya Pradesh Government that we are increasing Dearness Allowance to 55%, similar to Central Government employees. This includes an additional 3% effective from July 1, 2024, and another 2% from January 1, 2025.”
He further stated that the arrears for the increased DA will be disbursed in five equal installments between June and October 2025. “Your hard work and dedication have led Madhya Pradesh towards a better future. Our priority is to ensure that the lives of employees are happy and their future is secure,” he added.
The decision is likely to benefit thousands of state government employees and is seen as a step to boost morale and ensure financial support amid rising inflation and living costs.
Focus on Security: Action Against Pakistani Nationals
Earlier in the day, CM Yadav also chaired a high-level security meeting with senior police officials in the wake of the recent terror attack in Pahalgam. The meeting was focused on identifying and expelling Pakistani nationals residing in the state without long-term or official visas, in line with directives issued by the Central government.
“In accordance with the directions given by Honourable Prime Minister and Home Minister Shri Amit Shah Ji, we are taking concrete steps to expel Pakistani visa holders who are staying illegally or under short-term visas,” Yadav said.
He confirmed that proactive measures are already underway to identify such individuals and ensure their deportation under the stipulated guidelines.
The dual announcements—concerning financial welfare and internal security—highlight the Madhya Pradesh government’s ongoing focus on administrative reforms and safety amid growing national concerns.
