Outbreak of 'Mouse Fever' Afflicting Russian Troops Reported by Ukraine Amid Conflict

Amidst the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict, Ukraine has reported a significant outbreak of a disease termed ‘mouse fever’ among Russian troops, causing alarming symptoms including bleeding from the eyes, severe headaches, and relentless vomiting. According to Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate, the outbreak occurred among Russian units stationed in Kupyansk.

Mouse fever, scientifically known as a type of streptococcal infection, is transmitted to humans primarily through direct contact with rodents or by inhaling their feces. The reported symptoms encompass severe headaches, soaring body temperatures up to 40 degrees Celsius, rashes, eye hemorrhages, nausea, vomiting multiple times a day, and a decrease in blood pressure.

Allegedly, Ukraine has stated that complaints regarding this outbreak among Russian troops have been disregarded by their commanding officers. In response, Russia has dismissed these claims, viewing them as mere excuses employed by soldiers to evade combat situations.

The intelligence agency from Ukraine described the impact of this outbreak, asserting that the disease has substantially undermined the combat readiness of Russian forces. “In the Kupyansk direction of the front of the occupiers, mouse fever is mowing down en masse. As a result, mouse fever significantly reduced the fighting ability of Russian rats,” it mentioned, according to Sky News reports.

Simultaneously, as tensions persist between the two nations, the Kremlin has declared its reluctance to engage in negotiations to end the 22-month-long war in Ukraine. Dmitry Peskov, a spokesperson for the Kremlin, reiterated that there were currently no grounds for such talks. “There’ll be peace when we achieve our goals,” Peskov stated firmly, emphasizing the potential resolution of the conflict either through negotiation or force.

The situation unfolds against the backdrop of escalated hostilities, with diplomatic resolutions appearing elusive as both sides hold steadfast to their respective positions.
