Delhi University Student Manika Vishwakarma Crowned Miss Universe India 2025

The journey of Manika Vishwakarma, a final-year Delhi University student, has taken her from college competitions to the international spotlight. Recently crowned Miss Universe India 2025, she is now preparing to represent the nation at the Miss Universe contest in Thailand later this year.

College Beginnings: A Star in the Making

Three years ago, during the Ms. Freshers event at Mata Sundari College for Women, Manika first caught the attention of her peers and faculty. Among many nervous participants, she stood out for her elegance and confidence.

Cultural advisor Sirtaj Kaur still recalls the moment:

That evening proved to be the starting point of a much larger journey.

Education Meets Artistry

Manika’s path has always been a mix of academics and creativity. She is pursuing a BA Programme in Political Science with Economics at Delhi University while also excelling in the arts.

Trained in classical dance and painting, she has showcased her work at prestigious platforms including the Lalit Kala Akademi and the JJ School of Arts. This rare combination of intellect and artistry has shaped her personality and contributed to her success.

Born in Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan, and raised in Delhi, she represents both cultural roots and metropolitan aspirations.

Crowned with Confidence

In 2024, Manika won the title of Miss Universe Rajasthan, giving her entry into the national competition. The following year, she went on to claim the Miss Universe India 2025 crown.

Her winning moment came during the final Q&A round when asked whether she would prioritize women’s education or financial support for underprivileged families. Her answer highlighted the transformative power of learning:

This response cemented her place as not just a beauty queen, but a voice of change.

Teachers Reflect with Pride

Back at Delhi University, her mentors and teachers celebrated her victory.

Principal Harpreet Kaur described her as “brilliant, humble, and dedicated,” adding that her active role in cultural activities always left a lasting impact.

Her student advisor Manjot Kaur admired her discipline:
“Manika managed her studies alongside extracurricular activities with exceptional sincerity. She had a clear vision and worked consistently toward it.”

Though she has been on leave since March to focus on the competition, her faculty reassured that they will support her when she returns to complete her academics.

Women’s Education at the Core

Throughout her journey, Manika has emphasized education for women as a tool of empowerment. She believes that long-term societal progress can only be achieved when girls and women are equipped with equal opportunities to learn.

This focus on education aligns with her larger mission to inspire young women across the country, making her stand out among pageant winners.

Looking Ahead: Global Stage Awaits

Later this year, Manika will travel to Thailand to represent India at the Miss Universe 2025 pageant. With her blend of intellect, elegance, and advocacy, she aims to showcase India’s progressive values and cultural richness on a global platform.

Symbol of Aspiration for the Youth

Manika’s story reflects the journey of a young woman who balanced her studies, passions, and ambitions to reach extraordinary heights. From the small stage of a college auditorium to the international spotlight, her rise is a source of inspiration for countless students.

Her determination proves that success is built on discipline, humility, and a willingness to dream big.
