Small Plane Crashes Into Simi Valley Home, Sparks Fire and Emergency Response in Wood Ranch

Plane Crashes Into Simi Valley Home, Sparks Multi-Structure Fire in Wood Ranch Neighborhood

A small aircraft crashed into a residential neighborhood in the Wood Ranch area of Simi Valley on Saturday afternoon, igniting a large fire and damaging multiple homes, according to local reports. The crash occurred near the 200 block of High Meadow Street, just east of South Wood Ranch Parkway.

Emergency services were first alerted to the incident at approximately 1:51 PM, and fire and police units arrived on the scene around 2:15 PM. The Ventura County Fire Department responded swiftly to contain the blaze caused by the aircraft collision. While officials have not yet released an official statement, residents reported that the crash triggered a second-alarm fire response as the flames spread to surrounding structures.

Social media quickly filled with images and updates from local residents, some of whom reported that the plane flew directly overhead before crashing into a two-story home. “Plane went over our head and crashed into another home in #simivalley #planecrash,” one user wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Another post from the scene described hearing Ventura County dispatch mention “multiple people hurt” and “structures on fire” following the crash. A reporter near the site noted that the incident occurred near a golf course and observed thick smoke rising from the residential area.

A photograph shared by a local showed plumes of smoke billowing from the affected homes, although the aircraft itself was not visible in the image. As of Saturday evening, no fatalities or injuries have been officially confirmed, though unverified reports suggest multiple individuals may be hurt.

Authorities are expected to release more details as the investigation into the crash progresses. The cause of the accident and the identity of those on board the aircraft remain unknown.

This plane crash comes just days after another high-profile emergency in Ventura County—a high-speed car chase involving a shoplifting suspect who fled from Camarillo through parts of Los Angeles County on Thursday morning. That suspect, still unidentified, allegedly stole approximately $4,000 worth of merchandise from a Target store.
