Hamas Confirms Plan to Release Three Israeli Hostages on Saturday

Hamas’s armed wing announced on Friday that it will release three Israeli hostages from the Gaza Strip on Saturday, including one held by the Palestinian group Islamic Jihad.

In a statement on Telegram, Abu Obeida, the spokesman for Hamas’s Ezzedine Al-Qassam Brigades, confirmed the release under a “prisoner exchange deal.” However, the names of the hostages were not disclosed as Israeli authorities had yet to confirm their identities.

The planned release comes amid ongoing negotiations and international efforts to secure the return of hostages held in Gaza since the outbreak of hostilities. While details of the broader agreement remain unclear, the move signals potential progress in the complex and tense negotiations between Israel, Hamas, and mediators.
