A 25-year-old man of Indian origin has been arrested for allegedly groping multiple individuals at a public water park in Moncton, Canada. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) confirmed that the incidents occurred on July 7, resulting in the arrest of the suspect on-site.
According to the RCMP statement, the man targeted victims at the water park located on Mountain Road. The authorities have reported at least twelve victims, with some of them being minors under the age of 16. Upon receiving reports, police swiftly located and apprehended the suspect at the scene.
Following his arrest, the man was released from custody pending a court appearance scheduled for October 24 at Moncton Provincial Court. The investigation remains active, and authorities are urging anyone with information or who may have been affected to come forward.
“This is still an active investigation, and we are working diligently to understand if there were other victims,” stated the RCMP in an official press release. They further emphasized the importance of reporting sexual assault incidents, reassuring the public that complaints will be taken seriously and victims will be supported.
“We are asking parents to speak to their children if they attended this location on July 7. We also want people to know that a sexual assault complaint can be made at any time. If you are a victim of sexual misconduct, please contact us. You will be listened to, and you will be believed,” the press release continued.
